Ets(y) Wednesday: Dial M for Michele (and giveaway!)-CLOSED

The talent on Etsy never ceases to amaze me!  This week’s Ets(y) Wednesday feature is Dial M for Michele.  Michele Rosenthal is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer based out of
Brooklyn. She specializes in fresh, sleek images with a healthy dose of color
and charm. Her work can be seen on products, in magazines, all over the
internet, and on the walls of folks with impeccable taste. 🙂
1. What
graphic program(s)/tools do you use for your illustrations?

Everything I do is vector drawing in Adobe Illustrator, which is the love of my
life. Occasionally I teach a class on using the program.
2. Are
any of the illustrations on your site a self-portrait?

Nothing in my shop is a self-portrait. (Unless I’ve subconsciously drawn myself
as a robot?) But I have done a self-portrait in the past, just for fun, so
people on the internet can see what I look like. (Above)

3. Have
you ever been contacted by any of the ‘subjects’ of your illustrations?

Most of my subjects are imaginary, so no. It would make my day to be contacted
by anyone from the Breakfast Club, but it hasn’t happened yet. I did once have
a run-in with a lawyer representing Hall and Oates…I’m not sure if that
4. Do you
have a favorite creative inspiration spots in Brooklyn?

Living in New York can feel like inspiration overload; it’s hard to choose
between all the museums, parks, and architecture. But I do have a new favorite
cafe in my neighborhood called Milk and Roses. They have a wall covered in
books, some delightful jazz playing in the background, delicious sandwiches,
and just the right atmosphere for a getting a lot of work done.

And how lucky are we?  Michele is giving away a set of ‘Wish I Was There’ postcards (shown above) to one lucky reader.
